It’s official: the Alliance ship chartered for the Dragon Isles is departing tonight, taking a plethora of scholars and adventurers in search of answers to the Primal threat.
The
"Rugged Dragonscale", a ship only recently declared seaworthy, will set sail under cover of darkness later this evening, likely with a view to reaching the Isles before dawn.
The distant shores of the Dragon Isles were only recently revealed on the map, long having been forgotten, even by Dragonkind. These lands are ancient however, believed to have been the home of the Aspects in ages past.
Located almost directly north of Kul Tiras, we only have second-hand rumours and hearsay about exactly what can be found there in the present day.
One thing we do know however, is that the recently displaced Dracthyr herald from this island, and were forced to flee following the summoning of an ancient primal evil known as
"Razsageth".
As many in Stormwind are already aware, the Dracthyr have been granted temporary asylum by the Alliance leadership, with High Commander Turalyon known to have personally approved the move.
Not that many of them intended to stay for long; most came to our shores seeking assistance in battling the primal threat and reclaiming their homeland. It was no doubt something of an ironic surprise for them to find that both Alliance and Horde territories were already under attack by the same Primal cultists.
This expedition is believed to be a means to stopping the Primal threat at its core, and also as an explorative mission. To this end, we have witnessed many from the Explorer’s League gathering supplies at the Stormwind Docks and preparing for the upcoming voyage.

A great many Dracthyr have already expressed keen interest in venturing back to the Dragon Isles as soon as possible. Indeed, our only real knowledge of what to expect on the Isles has come from their understanding - which is somewhat limited, given that they spent the vast majority of their time in stasis.
What new lands will await? What new challenges, foes, trials and tribulations will our brave adventurers face? Only time will tell.
We have received reports that the same manner of expedition is being planned in the Horde capital of Orgrimmar, though no confirmation as to whether or not this has departed yet. The tenuous truce continues to hold fast for now, but it doesn’t take a learned historian to know that new lands and the rush for resources have caused significant troubles in the past.
The Lion’s Roar will report more on this story as it develops.
(High Commander Turalyon, Wrathion and a member of the Explorer’s League seen discussing the expedition)
The Lion's Roar's own expedition is expected to leave in a few days, there is still room for skilled people and we have secured the funding nessecary from anonomoys donors to pay a decent wage. Get in touch if interested.
