No, it is not a treant pun. It is not even a pun. It is the - in a way - sad fact that Chiffoncake Industries is closing the shop along the canals in Stormwind. Gone are the early afternoons of pastry shopping. The owner of the shop - Allie-May Chiffoncake has decided that higher rent in the city paired with less time to be behind the counter and declining sales, has resulted in her closing down the shop.
We sat down in my office and had a talk about it, I supplied the hot beverages, and she supplied a box of homestyle glazed donuts. Nothing helps a conversation as the presence of donuts and coffee.
Allie-May Chiffoncake: "You see, the shop hasn't been going as strongly in terms of sales as it has been when I first opened it here, the rent is not getting any cheaper for the very good area I decided to open it in, and well.. it's simply no longer profitable to keep it running. -- However! I didn't start this business with the shop. In fact, it's been running for several decades without me even once opening a shop-front to make ends meet. Instead, we've been an order and on-demand service business, striking deals with several food-joints and private folks, providing fresh and delicious baked goods to anyone, anywhere in Azeroth at nearly any time. And since I do think it would be far too sad to simply fade into obscurity and the memories of the lovely customers we've had here, I'd love for all of your readers to at least know where to find us and that we are very much still in business!"
Hardhy Lester: "So you are closing the shop, and instead moving your business to strictly catering and delivery? "Article continues after the ad.
Allie-May Chiffoncake: "Well, not instead, more like going back to delivery and catering. Just the way the business has always run before as well, yep!"
Hardhy Lester: "and how would people get in touch with you for that? "
Allie-May Chiffoncake: "They send a letter or come by personally at our office and production facility in mystic ward in Ironforge."
Hardhy Lester: "And how much ahead would someone need to order for it to be ready in time?"
Allie-May Chiffoncake: "Depending on the size of the order.. I'd say about ten minutes for a regular order, one hour for a larger order aaaand.. two days for a special occasion order, such as weddings or other larger events. We work very efficiently. Oh! And overnight orders are made the day after, we're closed at night."
After this we had a talk about dispensers, the freshness of pastry and Lion's Roar opening a book café (this is still an idea, so anyone interested in running a book café 1-4 times a month from our office should get in touch)
So, if you need pastry from Chiffoncake Industries you will in the future have to order it and get it delivered. On the bright side, then we have the pleasure to announce that if you include the words
"Lion's Roar" in your order you are eligible for a 10% discount on all orders above 2 silver, and if you use the words
"Hardhy Loves Donuts" you get a box of 6 assorted donuts with every order above 4 silver - and they CAN be combined giving you a discount of 10% AND 6 free donuts.
