First off some corrections. In my article from yesterday morning. I was informed by Golf Company, also known as the King's Footmen that the woman - Shana - had bleached her skin to try to avoid capture. Apparently this was not true, she was pale skinned the entire time, but the first reports about her was based on sightings at night, so she appeared to have darker skin.
Captain Stormblade:
Initially she was reported to us as a person with a sun-kissed skin yet further down the line other reports stated she is white skinned. It was not a matter of bleach but more of a matter of obtaining false report. One we jumped on a bit too swift, I must say.
This leads us to the second correction, which is perhaps a bit more of a clarification, and it also comes from Golf Company. I wrote about Marianne Specter in the article yesterday, and how she was almost killed by Ruskov Thoradan. In my interview with Sergeant Larony of said guard company, she was made to look a bit suspicious due to the wording used by Sergeant Larony. The captain of Golf Company would like to point out that there is no wrong doings by Miss Specter, she merely ran to the site of the commotion with the best intentions at heart, and was almost killed for it.
Captain Stormblade:
Miss Specter sought to check out a commotion over at the Graveyard the moment she heard gun shots. Unfortunately, she arrived seconds before Commander Thoradan rushed in. It was dark and by whatever means Commander was observing the scene, led by his emotions, exhaustion or otherwise predicting possible outcomes due to his experience... he saw Miss Specter as a threat and she was in fact stabbed by him.
In other words an unfortunate accident - but clearly not at the fault of Miss Specter, and Id like to take a moment to ask people to perhaps be a tad more vigilant about who they run through with a sword. From behind.
That cleared up, lets move on.
This morning edition of the Lion's Roar had an article I wrote last night about a wanted criminal - Shana - who according to the city guards (Golf Company) is responsible for bombings and murder attempts. This morning I received a letter at our new office supposedly from said person.
Normally I would just hand the letter over to the guards and be done with it, but the author of the letter asks questions which I think needs answers, and also makes some quite erroneous assumptions about my allegiance which honestly upsets me greatly due to the clear stupidity of even asking the question.
Article continues after the ad.
But let us not get ahead of ourselves. First, if you did not read this morning's edition of the Lion's Roar - then go get a copy as this article makes more sense if you know the background. You also help support underpaid and overworked journalists, so its a win-win. Go get a copy.
Now, the letter starts off by the author going on about how the nobles control the guards, and that the bombing was not their doing. Well no one ever said the bombing they are thought responsible for happened at the same time as the attempted shooting of Ruskov Thoradan, and secondly, the guards already said the criminal does not work alone.
Then they write that they cannot be in two places at once, and then continues about how the guards are under the thumb of the nobles. Really? This is not exactly news. The nobles run the city, and that means they are in charge of the guards as well. I am not sure who thinks otherwise.
Then the letter goes on about some general accusations thrown left and right, against the guards (Golf Company), against Ruskov Thoradan and his people, before ending with a bit which I need to address on a more personal level.
Now you tell ME Mister Lester. Who do YOU work for? Is it the Crown? Perched on top of their marble thrones behind their white walls? The Nobles that keep their pockets lined by shitting on the lesser folk? Or do you work for the people of the Kingdom.
Best make your choice, Lester. The clock is ticking.
If you are going to involve me or the Lion's Roar in your little political drama and crime spree then AT LEAST take the time to read the paper and the articles I write. If you had, then you would already have your answer to your question. I have on numerous occasions criticised the people in power, whether it has been the Royal Court or the guards, or nobles in general. I am pretty sure my reputation speaks for itself in that regard. But make no mistake, it does not make us friends, it does not make us buddies. I still despise you, as I do anyone who uses violence to further their political views. Especially when innocent bystanders get hurt in the process.
Be the better person. Stop hurting people and use violence. There is already initiatives to help the people of Westfall, set in motion by actual nobles. Are they perfect? no, not yet, but maybe if you stopped the violence, and used words - you could help fix that.
