Telling the history of the Alliance is talking about different tribes of humans that got together, it’s about how different groups were moved by different reasons to be united and fight, sometimes leading to victories, but others to defeat. We can’t forget the history of the Alliance is also about those other races that lent help to the humans and of those that joined them. This history is also about those moments where some groups decided to step aside, and the consequences it had, but here we won’t blame those for their past actions, we will rather try to understand history as a chain of actions and reactions. And today we talk about the history of the Alliance between humans, high elves, and void elves.
Around 2,800 years before the orcs came to Azeroth our world was already in conflict, this was the moment of the Troll Wars, where the Amani trolls faced the elves of Quel’Thalas. These high elves were quite reclusive at the time, but seeing the threat the trolls were not only for them but also for humans, they asked for help from Thoradin, king of Arathor. Both factions agreed to help each other, the elves trained a group of humans in magic in exchange for the help to fight the trolls. Together they had a decisive victory that ended the Amani Empire, and so the high elves pledge loyalty to the Arathi line.
But their collaboration didn’t end there, the Council of Silvermoon warned the Magocrats of Dalaran about the Burning Legion. Together they decided to empower a champion that will protect them and founded a society to watch over the selection of this champion and help the world, The Guardians of Tirisfal.
The history continues and so does collaboration, once again during the Second War the High Elves helped Anduin Lothar, last in the Arathi line, to fight against the Horde, honoring the aid and pact they did with the Arathi humans. And when Terenas Menethil II, King of Lordaeron ordered to stop Ner’zhul from opening the portal, along with Archimage Khadgar and General Turalyon, also went Alleria Windrunner, Ranger-Captain of Silvermoon. All of them, together, closed the portal at a great price, locking themselves again from home, from their loved ones and friends, to protect us.
Once back they continued helping, protecting, and when Lady Alleria, after being changed by the void, found a group of blood elves that had been exiled from Silvermoon and changed just like her, once more she helped them, taught them to control that power, gave them a name. King Anduin Wrynn welcomed them to the Alliance, as he saw in them valuable allies, but also a group of elves in the need of help, of a home.

Ranger-Captain Alleria Windrunner
Renowned Troll Hunter of Quel'Thalas. Lead Scout and Intelligence Agent for the Alliance Expedition that marched into the orc homeworld of Draenor.
Your heart flew straight as any arrow upon the wind, sister. You were the brightest of our Order. You were the most beloved of our kin.
- Sylvanas Windrunner - Ranger General of Quel'Thalas
Recently some groups have acted like they can decide who is worthy of joining us, but the Alliance is more than that and the King himself found the Ren'dorei worthy of our trust and help, as such they have proven to be great allies. Let's not forget our past, so we can build a better future for Azeroth, for the Alliance.
